Professional Living Room Demolition in Gallatin
Living room renovations are about opening the space up and modernizing it, whether that means pulling out dated wood paneling, removing built-ins, ripping up worn carpet or hardwood, taking down a fireplace surround or removing a non-load-bearing wall to connect to the kitchen.
Because the living room is usually in the middle of the home, protecting the rest of the house is a big part of the job. We seal openings, protect floors along our path and keep the work zone contained so your household can keep functioning around the project.
How Your Living Room Demolition Project Works
Walk-through
We confirm what's being removed and identify any walls, beams or ductwork that need to be checked by your contractor or an engineer.
Seal the space
Doorways and openings get plastic barriers with zipper doors, floors along our path are covered, and HVAC vents are sealed.
Demolition
Built-ins and trim first, then wall coverings and ceilings, then flooring last so debris doesn't damage new surfaces.
Haul-out
Debris is bagged and carried out continuously so the house never fills up with demolition waste.
Ready for build
The room is swept and vacuumed, nails and staples are pulled, and it's ready for your contractor.
How to Prepare
- Move all furniture, electronics, rugs and decor out of the room
- Take down wall-mounted TVs, art and curtains
- Tell us about anything you'd like to save, such as mantels or built-ins
- Have your contractor confirm any walls being removed are non-load-bearing
What Affects the Price
Living room demolition pricing depends on the room size, what's being removed, how many flooring layers there are, the size of the fireplace surround, whether ceilings are coming down, and how much protection the rest of the house needs.
Living Room Demolition FAQ
Can you remove a wall to open up my living room and kitchen?
If the wall is confirmed non-load-bearing, yes. Load-bearing walls require engineering and a contractor to install a beam. We can do the demolition portion in coordination with them.
Can you remove a brick fireplace?
We remove fireplace surrounds, mantels and brick or stone facing. Full chimney removal is a structural project that should be planned with a contractor.
Will you pull up hardwood under my carpet?
Only if you want it gone. Many Gallatin homes have nice hardwood under old carpet, and we're happy to protect it.
